CARLO SCARPA STYLE

Carlo Scarpa (Venice 1906 – Sendai 1978) was an Italian architect, designer and academic, among the most important of the last century.

In restoration, Scarpa had the ability to elaborate projects and interventions in ancient and valuable contexts thanks to his skills in understanding the pre-existing architectural context. This feature is seen by today’s art critics as a strength: he works in the built as the great architects of the past: Andrea Palladio, Bramante, Filippo Brunelleschi, Leon Battista Alberti, Francesco.

His unconventional architecture compared to contemporary movements of his time has been revaluated and highly appreciated by today’s experts.
